1. High Dynamic Range Photography Simplified
High Dynamic Range imaging (HDRI or simply HDR) has become recently a very popular technique of post-processing photos to enhance them and achieve a desired artistic effect. It attempts to deal with the fact that photographic pictures are not as powerful as human eye in displaying both dark and light objects in photos since photo cameras have a limited dynamic range. This article is the first in a series dedicated to HDR photography describing general HDR concepts and HDR processing using Photoshop. In future articles I will review most popular HDR software tools.

The Oceanographic Park in Valencia
The Oceanographic Park in Valencia is the largest marine park in Europe. It is located in the Spanish city of Valencia in the area in which there was the bed of the river Turia, dried up in the sixties after a devastating flood. The park was built by reusing a project of the late architect Madrilenian Félix Candela. The Oceanographic Park is the aquatic part of a larger body which is called Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (City of Arts and Sciences) containing a total of 45,000 specimens in an area of approximately 100,000 m². The complex is divided into zones that reproduce the most diverse marine environments on Earth. The most striking part of the park is an underwater 70-meter long tunnel and a restaurant where you have the impression of eating in the bottom of the ocean.
