Description
The Parthenon is a temple in the Acropolis of Athens, Greece, dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena, the goddess of wisdom, intellect, justice and war in Greek mythology. She, as the people of Athens believed, was their protector. The construction of the temple began in 447 BC and was completed in 438 BC. Decorations of the Parthenon were not finished until 431 BC.
