Difficult Run, Great Falls, Virginia (video)

Few people know about Difficult Run, one of the most scenic spots in Great Falls, Virginia. Passing under Georgetown Pike, Difficult Run speeds through a steep gorge with waterfalls reaching the Potomac River with panoramic views at the mouth of Difficult Run. Previously, we mentioned that Kings Dominion has a lot to offer to kids. However, kids, especially, little ones, do not come to the park along. In this last part of our gallery we want to show that entire families with moms and dads and their children are very welcome in the park. True: some rides in Kinds Dominion are not meant for adults; they are simply to small. But many attractions can be experienced by the whole family.

If you have never visited Kings Dominion amusement in Doswell, Virginia, this photo gallery can help you get better idea what you can find in the park. I am talking about all parts of it - rides, attractions, shopping, dining as well as its environment and logistics. Keep in mind that the park is big; it is located on 400 acres with endless entertainment for the entire family. Kings Dominion Park, Part III: Kings Dominion Park - Paradise for Kids

The original park opened in 1975 did not focus very much on kids. In 1997 the new Kidzville section of the park was built up around the original Scooby Doo ride proving that kids and kids entertainment are taken very serious by the current management of the park. With this part of our gallery we wanted to give you an idea of how you can entertain your kids you have brought them to the park.

Kings Dominion Park, Part IV: Big Guns of Kings Dominion Park

Not a secret, some people come to Kings Dominion park mostly for the sake of a thrill from various adventurous rides offered. In fact, they associate amusement parks mostly with such rides rating their experience according to the amount of the adrenaline they managed to pump into their blood. But even if this is not true, most intensive rides are always special at parks like Kings Dominion. Consequently, it would be only fair to dedicate a separate page describing high thrill rides at Kings Dominion.

Luray Caverns

Situated in the Shenandoah Valley, Luray, founded in 1812, is the county seat of Page County, Virginia. It's a small town with population of about 5,000 people and two-hour drive from Washington D.C. Luray is most known among tourists for Luray Caverns discovered in 1878.  Each year, more than 500,000 visitors explore the spectacular underground wonder and the adjacent Car and Carriage Caravan of historic vehicles. From the very beginning, discoverers and everybody else who visits this natural wonder are stunt by the beauty of an eerie world of stalactites and stalagmites sparkling in the light whether it's a candle, or flashlight or an artificial illumination system installed now in the cavern.

What possibly can be in common between caverns and a car museum? The answer is in the passion of H.T.N. Graves, president of Luray Caverns Corporation who started long ago locating and purchasing cars and other artifact deemed important to the history of traveling on wheels and roads. Overall Run Falls - Virginia Highest Waterfall

Overall Run Falls is the highest waterfall in the Shenandoah National Park and in Virginia. It consists of two drops, where the upper one is 29 feet and the lower is 93 feet. Both are located near each other and can be accessed using the same trail. As all other waterfalls in Virginia, it can be best described as a cascading type; nevertheless, the lower drop and surrounding area with an overlook is very picturesque and worth visiting.
