What seems strange, unacceptable and surprising to a woman can be quite natural and normal for a man. Here is an unexpected submission we've got on this issue (written by a man) - 15 things men want. The author of these notes explained that the main motivation for this submission was his desire to improve communication between men and women. It's up to you to decide whether you like it or not.

15 Things Men Want

1. We all know that there are two groups of needs - primary (food, sleep, procreation) and secondary (self-fulfillment, love, friendship, etc.). Men are not exception, and because of this, before everything else, even if it sounds trite, men need food. If a man is hungry, all he is thinking about is food. If this need is satisfied, he can start talking about secondary needs.

2. Men by nature are fighters and providers. They earn money, take responsibilities and control a lot of things - life is not easy and at times can be quite stormy. Because of this, men want to have home - a place where they are welcomed, and where they can stay away from the perils of the world out there.

3. No matter how strange this can seem, men want to leave a trace after they die. Sooner or later, no matter what they do or think at a younger age, they want kids. Often, it does not matter what they want to do with them - it is rather a blunt desire to have children.

4. There is only one way to have a child - to have sex, and this is one of the most important needs men have (many women believe it's the only one). It's a blind, biological necessity as important as air, water or food. If a man has not had sex, he becomes angry, aggressive and unstable.

5. Men want to fit their role in this world (or at least how they perceive it), and it means a man want to look powerful and important. Most of things men do are done because of this powerful drive to establish themselves.

6. Fighting instinct is a very powerful one in men. Long ago it was mostly a fight for a territory or for a woman. However, there are many manifestations of this legacy today. It can be as simple as a fist fight or as complex as a plan to conquer the world.

7. Fighting is good, but fight by itself is not enough. The result is as important as the process. A man needs to be a winner, a hero and a saver of the world, souls, and destinies. A man needs to believe that he can deal with anything no matter what.

8. A man needs to be No. 1 both, physically and intellectually. It's important to remember that since most men are stronger physically than women by nature, they try to prove their superiority over women intellectually. This is, obviously, not guaranteed, but it does not matter. Men want power; men want influence events no matter what, when and where - in a kitchen, at work, political, social, you name it. A man feels and needs to be a center of the Universe.

9. A logical extension of the above is the issue of leadership. When they are young, men want to be the life and soul of the party, and when they become older they want to be in charge. At the same time men want to be accepted. If a boy is not accepted by his peers, he is infinitely unhappy. If a man has allies and supporters, he feels as a part of one whole and that helps reinforce the idea that men's way is the only one.

10. Men need love, care and tenderness. No matter how a man may look like, inside he remains a small boy that needs a woman to find comfort and love.

11. As difficult and contradictory as it may seem (and also for some men to admit), the presence of an authority is very important. Boys need to have in front of them a powerful figure of their fathers - strong and uncompromised. This helps them understand who real men are and identify a path to follow.

12. Financial well-being is very important for men. We are not talking about having money to exist and survive - we are talking about a lot of money. It's not only a materialistic thing; it's a symbol of their achievements.

13. Most men are adventurous beasts. It does not matter what kind of adventure. It's important to get some adrenalin, to have blood boiling. This also explains men's desire for change.

14. In old times, knights felt a need to serve some kind of higher cause - this is also true today. Every man has an ultimate goal which he tries to achieve throughout his life and difficulties of being.

15. But at times, a man just wants to have a quiet life and stay away from troubles and not being bothered by problems and chores.
